State & Federal

By now, we all know that the impact of COVID-19 on businesses will be immense. While the federal government has passed legislation in an attempt to curb the impact, it may be overwhelming for businesses and individuals to comprehend the options available. We partnered with Virginia SBDC and Virginia DHCD to bring you a webinar series that will provide helpful resources to those in need.

We are hosting weekly webinars on Zoom to allow participants an opportunity to hear a variety of updates from government leaders on new resources, receive management, finance and marketing tips, and ask questions about COVID-19 support for our business owners, nonprofits, foundations, and other community partners. This program will run through May 2020.

On April 10 and 14, join Williams Mullen, a full-service law firm serving the Mid-Atlantic and beyond, for a webinar where they will provide practical advice on how to take advantage of these offerings, including the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). We will also discuss the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and what it means to employers.

Advanced registration is required at the links below, and your session link will be emailed to you to join the session. We hope to see you online!

Information from Nancy Price - VEDP

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in dramatic increases in demand for critical medical supplies.  Due to this big increase in demand plus supply constraints of producers of those products, our hospitals in Virginia are facing the prospect of shortages that could impact healthcare delivery. This is a whole community event as Virginia is in urgent need of N95 respirators, surgical masks, disposable medical gowns, nitrile/latex gloves, face shields, goggles, and ventilators.  If you feel your company is able to contribute, I ask that you please review the below information:

1. Register on the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Private Sector Portal to be added to the distribution list to receive future correspondence on the Commonwealth's actions:   https://bit.ly/VaPrivateSector

2. There is a survey that the Virginia Department of Emergency Management has published to gather information from the private sector on issues they are experiencing and offers of assistance to Virginia (donation, in-kind contribution, discounted).  That can be accessed at https://arcg.is/1amrze.

3. Please email private.sector@vdem.virginia.gov with questions not answered through the Portal or Survey. Clinical questions about Coronavirus can be directed to 877-ASK-VDH3 or http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/
