Housing Needs Assessment & Market Analysis

Bath County and the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission engaged Camoin 310 to conduct a Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis Study. The purpose of the study is to understand and quantify the county's housing affordability and availability challenge, envision how the county’s quality of life could change in light of a shrinking year-round population and limited workforce housing options, and offer tools and strategies for addressing the issue. The study was kicked off in September 2019 and involved several components: research and data analysis, interviews with stakeholders, employer and employee surveys, identification of potential tools and strategies, and public engagement. The process was overseen and guided by the Bath County Housing Steering Committee, which provided input and feedback through a series of meetings.

The study was completed in March 2020. A final presentation summarizing the results of the study can be viewed below, as well as the full report.
