Michael J. Bender, Jr. County Administrator -  Email the Bath County Administrator, Mike Bender at mike.bender@bathcountyva.gov.[email protected] -The County Administrator is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to manage and coordinate the overall day-to-day operations and activities of the County government. The County Administrator also serves as the chief advisor to the Board and conducts County business in accordance with Board policy. Duties include executing all policies established by the Board or mandated by the State, preparing and administering the budget, and supervising the function of County departments. The County Administrator also has primary responsibility for personnel administration, including hiring and removal of staff, staff organization, employee performance, review of proposed personnel actions, and interpretation of personnel policies.

The Executive Assistant/Deputy Clerk to the Board is responsible for managing the work flow of the County Administrator’s Office, Board of Supervisors agenda and minute preparation, records management and retention, preparation of correspondence for Board members and the County Administrator, maintaining information on board/commission memberships, payroll and benefits administration.

Janice O'Reilly Deem, Administrative Support Specialist  -  Email Janice Deem, Administrative Support Specialist Bath County Administration at janice.deem@bathcountyva.gov.[email protected] The Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for clerical duties within the County Administrator's Office, serving as receptionist, filing, accounts payable, records management and retention, and purchasing duties. The Administrative Support Specialist is also responsible for maintaining the County website. Please contact Ms. Deem for recommendations on website changes.

The Bath County Administrator's Office offers free notary services to Bath County Residents.
