The Commissioner of the Revenue is a Constitutional Officer who is elected to a four year term and serves at the pleasure of the voters. The Commissioner is the chief assessing officer of the locality. The Commissioner of Revenue is responsible for ensuring equitable application of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and ordinances of the County of Bath directed by the Code of Virginia.

Personal Property Report Date: May 1st
Land Use Revalidation and Renewal Deadline: May 1st
Personal Property Tax Payment Due Date: December 5th
Real Estate Payments Due Date: June 5th and December 5th
Tax Relief Application Due Date: May 1st
Meals and Lodging Due Date: 20th of the month following the reported month
Mixed Beverage Application Due Date: June 1st, to avoid expiration on June 13th

Tax Preparation - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ~ Monday through Friday Beginning January 30, 2025 By appointment or drop off. NO WALK-INS! Tax information may be dropped in the small gray drop box at the rear of the Courthouse. An interview sheet must be completed and placed in tax envelopes with tax forms.
